Blower Door Testing

We test home air infiltration and locate leaks across Pinellas & Pasco County. Testing includes a walk-through and can lead to sealing and gap repairs.

What blower door testing measures

We measure your home's air infiltration with a doorway frame and flexible panel, a variable-speed fan, a pressure gauge for indoor and outdoor pressure differences, and an airflow manometer and hoses.

Finding and sealing air leaks

During testing, we monitor interior spaces for air escaping or coming in and seal identified leaks. After the test, we return to replace, repair or fill gaps.

Preparing fireplaces and wood heat

Before our technician arrives, all wood and coal fires must be completely out. Remove ashes from open fireplaces.

Walk‑through and access requirements

Plan a walk-through with our technician and point out drafty rooms or areas that are hard to keep comfortable. We need access to closets, built-in cabinets, attics, crawl spaces and unused rooms.

Doors, windows and fireplace settings

Our technician closes exterior doors and windows, opens interior doors, and closes fireplace dampers, fireplace doors and woodstove air inlets for the test.

Appliance controls during testing

For safety and accurate results, our technician sets atmospheric fossil-fuel appliance controls so the appliances do not fire during testing. We restore those controls to their original positions afterward.

How long testing takes

Expect testing to take up to an hour or more, depending on the complexity of your home.

How it works

From walk‑through to leak repairs

  1. Identify your drafty rooms

We walk through your home with you to identify drafty areas and rooms that are difficult to condition.

  2. Measure air infiltration

Our doorway fan, pressure gauge and airflow instruments measure your home's air infiltration.

  3. Seal and repair gaps

We seal identified leaks and return after testing to replace, repair or fill gaps.

Emergency AC repairs and office hours

We offer 24-hour emergency AC repairs. Office hours Mon–Fri, 8 am–4 pm; weekend hours Sat–Sun, 7 am–3 pm, for emergencies only.

Our customers' service experiences

4.4 stars after 163 reviews

  • I have been a customer of Todd's for many years. Every technician that has come to service my house has been very professional and courteous. They make a noticeable effort to not disturb or make a mess while working at my house. I had damage to my mini split during hurricane Milton and rather than just try to sell me a new unit, Todd had his team try every option to fix it. Todd hires very skilled technicians and also makes sure his team are excellent at customer service. I want to give a special thanks to Brandon and Noel who have done such a great job when working at my house, I wanted to write this review. Also, Barb is very professional and will always get back to you when she says will. You have a great team Todd. Thank you.
